Princes, Knights in Shining Armor & Fairytales.

For the longest time, I’ve always wanted a Prince. That oh-so-handsome Prince who will ride on his white horse and “save” me from the castle that I’ve been locked up in.

But, why the Prince? Why not the Knight in Shining Armor? The hero that’s actually able of protecting me, of shielding me against the world. In my previous blogs, I’ve talked about how fairy tales don’t exist and that my prince doesn’t exist. Which is right. No girls’ Prince exists. But we all have a Knight in Shining Armor.

He’s not show off-y about his amazing abilities. He does the little things that start to add up. And before you know it, he’s swept you off your feet. He’s saved you from the castle you’ve been locked up in. Or maybe, the castle you’re locked up in actually is the best place for you. And he’ll stay with you in that dark castle, and it’ll become not so dark. Instead, it’ll be the most wonderful place you’ll ever be.

Not only will he make your darkest days and places bright, but he will further protect you from all harm. He might not be your Prince, but you are most definitely his Princess. He’ll fight wars, both internally and externally, for you. He’ll fight off all evil and harm for you. He’ll make sure that his Princess is always happy. YOU will be his priority. Never again will you have to worry about not having protection, about not having a shield, about not having everything you want. Because he will fight to the end to make sure you get everything you deserve, want and more.

He’ll be that one that you’re afraid of, because of the armor he has on. Because of the strong exterior he has. You’ll think he’ll never be that person you’re looking for. But in reality, underneath all that armor, he’s got a heart of gold.

He’ll give up what he once thought was important just to stay near you, just to be with you. He’ll wait extreme amounts of time to say that he’s perfected himself for you, that he’s gotten rid of the rough edges and what he has to offer you is a flawless, shining jewel.

He’ll fight off sleep to stay up with you, to make sure you’re okay. Whether it’s the pettiest thing in the world, or if the world is crashing down on you, he’ll pull you into his arms, hold you tight and whisper in your ear “My Beautiful Princess, everything will be okay. I got you.”

That, my ladies, is what you should be looking for.

Stop looking for your Prince. Instead, notice the Knight in Shining Armor that’s been guarding you and shielding you and protecting you all this time. Even if he may not know it yet, he’ll see it one day. And so will you.
